[Method] Make $1000s out of kids. Great for kenyans new to internet marketing

Boring work for the grown ups, but this is a good way to make money for those who are new to IM. Can be less boring if you hire someone to do the work for you, costs nothing, just time (or money for the time). Scaled properly, this method could make you $1000 a day easily with a spend of just $10 or 20 a day.

Kids love games. Parents hate kids not doing their homework and spending too much time on games. Kids would do anything to win a game. They form clans in arcades. We all know how it works as most of us (who're not too old) have been through this.

I was thinking about this some time ago, and an idea of capitalizing on kids like these came to me. Well, it wouldn't really be something that would make the kids happy, not scamming them either. We will just be wasting a bit of their time which they would only waste on gaming otherwise. So no guilt there as each of these kids could potentially make us a $ or 2. And the kids of this age group of say 11 to 17 are highly converting.

Step 1
Make a list of highly popular gaming forums (google should help you if scrapebox doesnt). These forums are usually filled with kids as grown up gamers dont always spend a lot of time on these forums. Get a filipino guy to register on all of them or get a forum account creator or something to do it for you. Buy hotmails etc, get emails verified blablabla, go through the process.

Step 2
Get a free domain, .tk or the likes, or maybe a .info or anything else thats cheap or costs nothing. Setup a wordpress blog (you will need hosting) with a content locker. Fill that blog with fake codes and stuff of different games on different blog posts. The kids don't get working codes in the end, thats how their time is going to be wasted. But we are BHers, so who cares?

Step 3
Lock all pages with email submit offers that are preferably around the world, not just USA offers. There are many offers that accept traffic from Europe, US, AU and ZA. Kids are everywhere. Once the offer is filled, exit into the blog, and here you could just leave the page as it is, or refresh into a page that says that the code has been reported too many times as not working, just so the kid doesn't waste more time, if that makes you feel better.

Step 4
Login to the forum account yourself, or get a filipina to go it for you, and make posts like 'Hey, nice forum, am new in here, I found this link for this game, code appears to be working, my clan won' into them, make multiple hand written variations, post manually, post into the appropriate sections. Don't just post, keep replying and keep the thread active.

Step 5
Watch traffic pour in. Make more threads in the same and different forum, spin the posts to make them look natural. After a while, people start talking about your domain and say that none of the codes work. This is the time to rinse and repeat, get a new domain, setup everything, create new ids and start over again.

Easy money if done right, highly scalable, until your cpa companies find out that you are tricking underage kids to signup for offers and generate leads that would never be useful for the advertisers. When that happens, pick a new offer

Hope this helps a few people.

[METHOD] My Easy $150/Month Method with hubpages for any Kenyan

Things you must have to make it work:

- A HubPages account
- 5 High Quality Hubs
- English Writting Skills

What you will have with this method:

- $150 per Month for 6 Months ($900 Total)
- A HighProfile in HubPages - with do follow links
- Google Adsense and Amazon extras - keep on reading

Now, to explain to you all:

HubPages recently (6 months ago) launched an apprenticeship program, that apprenticeship program is what we are going to use to implement this method.

First of all you want to make sure you have 5 already written Hubs with at least 500 words and 1 picture, though I suggest 5 Hubs with 800 words, 3 pictures and 1 Poll or Quiz Module.

Now, why do you want these hubs? To show you mean business and that you have some quality (you must apply to this program and if they don't deem you worthy it can take a long while to get accepted). I had 5 Hubs and applied telling them I was ready to get on with my writing career yada yada and there was no waiting time for me: Got accepted in 1 week.

The apprenticeship program pays you $6.09 per hub writen (500 words with 1 picture) and you can write 28 per Month. They pay INSTANTLY, as soon as you click publish you get paid.

The program lasts for 6 months (my time with the apprenticeship finished already ) so you now have a stable source of internet income! Enjoy, it was my first source of income and I loved the feeling of having a writing "job".

Other than that? You can include Amazon Modules and Google Adsense on your hubs. This is a good thing because Apprenticeship Hubs have an increased visibility and you can rake in some good numbers too (just make sure to use common sense, don't abuse and make sure you tailor everything to your articles).

Publishing all these Apprenticeship Hubs will give you a high HubScore and HubScore from 70 to 100 get do follow links (My HubScore is 93 so I backlink from there too)

So, you can see this is a good idea for newbie marketers( $150 month isn't a lot, but it helped me start and I'm sure most of you newbie writers will appreciate this help).

If you thought this method will help you, I only ask you one thing: If you don't have an HubPages account yet, could you sign under me? PM me - you are free to sign up as you want, but I would appreciate it. As a thank you I will follow, leave fan-mail and share the first 5 hubs on my 93 HubScore Profile for all that I see registered under me

Guaranteed $10K a month online/offline hybrid method for any Kenyan

I've been combining my offline and online marketing skills for quite sometime now. Im going to show you a method that can make a you limitless money if you rinse and repeat it.

It involves local search. The best way of describing this method is by showing you a real life example. This example uses local dentists but you can do it for literally any type of business. The reason I used denists is because here in London they make an absolute fortune which means they have the funds available to invest in advertising their services.

What I did was buy up a load of domains. I bought about 50 of them but im just going to show you 2

http://dentistinleyton.com
http://dentistinleytonstone.com

So what I did for the first one was chucked up a wordpress blog on the domain, upload a nice theme and write a quick 200 word article with the domain keyword which is "Dentist in Leyton" In leyton there are about 20 dentists but ill go more into that in a minute. I then stick a few "Advertise Here Banners" in the right side of the margin.

What I then did was buy one of these 200 blog comment packages and get the provider to get me 200 links to my TLD with the anchor "Dentist in Leyton"

Now the thing you need to remeber is you Obviously want to go for a term that you will rank for and appear on the first page immediately so dont go for anything crazy like "Dentist London" go for something with a bit less competition, like I've done above.

Once the site is ranking. I then went to yell.com and made a list of all the dentists in leyton and rang them one by one. I told them I had a site that was ont he first page of google for the keyword "Dentist in Leyton" and was currently getting around 10-15 visitors a day. We're talking ultra targetted traffic.

Now 10-15 vistors a day could quite easily be an extra $1000 a day of income for a dentist depending on the work that needs to be done to the persons teeth. So I explain this to the dentist and they like the idea and ask me how much. I tell them it will cost $400 a month but potentially that could bring them in about 20K worth of business in that time. They love the idea and sign up. I get my partner to set up an invoice and get them on a monthly billing plan. I then put their contact details on my site and move onto the next dentist.

When I have 3 dentists signed up I close off the signups to that particular site and move onto another location. I don't want to sarurate the site with too many ads because otherwise the dentists start complaining that they are not recieving enough calls so the optimum number i have found to work is about 3 dentists max per location, which is about $1200 per site per month! This whole process takes about a week to set up and doesnt reall require you to be that persuasive. Once the dentists see the potential in what you are providing they are eager to get signed up. Once I saw the protential for this I then set up another 20 sites in another niche.

As you can see with about 10 sites you should be able to turn this into a $10k a month business and the money is RECURRING every month. All you need to do is make sure the sites are ranking for the keyword every month and bringing in enough traffic to warrant the dentist to stay hooked. What you might also want to do is get people to mention your site when they speak to the dentist to show the dentist you are actually bringing them in decent leads.

Anyway just giving you guys an insight into the power of local search and how you can make money from it.

Method on how To Get One-Way Backlinks

Here is a method to get some one-way backlinks that works pretty well. You need to get a secondary site. Set up something simple and contact other webmasters to trade links (reciprocal links). It can be from a different niche. Put all the links ********, it doesn 't matter.

After a few reciprocal links (10~30) we need to redirect our secondary site to our main site. We will use a 301 redirect. But we will only redirect search engines, not normal users. This way you can continue with the reciprocal links and the other webmasters will not remove the backlinks.

Use this code on the top of the PHP file(s) to redirect all the backlinks to your main site (don 't forget to change your link):

Code:
if (preg_match("#(google|slurp@inktomi|yahoo! slurp|msnbot)#si", $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'])) {

    header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
    header("Location: http://www.your-main-site.com/");
    exit;

}
Now you will have one-way backlinks to your main site. Google will redirect the link juice to the main site and will not crawl the backlinks of the other webmasters on the secondary site.

Some notes:
- you can use a better script to do that.
- I believe that the secondary site will have the same pagerank after the redirection (or the actualization of pagerank).
- It 's easier to trade links on niches like games, porno etc. Keep that in mind, your goal is to trade many links.
- you can redirect before the first backlinks, but I think this works better this way

[Method] Banking Over $4,000/month - Sneaky 7 Step Offline Method for any kenyan

I have been using this method for several months and there’s no reason why you can’t start using this right now to start generating some serious income. This method can work well even if you just want to use emails instead of cold calling or personally visiting prospects. However, I have found that this works best when a phone call is accompanied by a real letter followed by a personal visit to close the deal.

The Method:

The method involves offering local businesses a service to rank websites on the first page of Google.

I can already hear you screaming “Are you kidding me? This is one of the oldest offline methods

The method might be old, but I’ll be showing you how to identify prospects which satisfy the following criteria:

1. Will be eager to use this service
2. Will have websites that are extremely easy to rank

Combine these two and you have a gold mine waiting to be exploited.

What you’ll need to implement this method:

1. A tool to check competition (free and paid tools available)
2. Ability to build links (DIY, use tools like scrapebox, gsa, amr, etc. or use someone’s service from fiverr or this forum)
3. Ability and motivation to go out and talk to people.

Once you have all the above-mentioned tools, you are ready to get cracking.

Step 1 – Select a category

Select any category of business which has a local market and could do with more online traffic. The best businesses are usually small service businesses which don’t have adequate resources to effectively market their services. Some types of businesses which I have had success with include doctors (drill down to specific categories like dentists, pediatricians, etc.), lawyers (choose specific categories like dui lawyers, criminal lawyers, divorce lawyers, etc.), accountants, fitness trainers, tutors, cleaning services, house maintenance services, etc.

The list of businesses that you can market this service to is huge and a quick look at the categories in yellow pages (or any other directory) will confirm that.

Step 2 – Check Online Traffic for Selected Category

Once you have selected a category, head over to Google Adwords Keyword tool and check the traffic that the term “[category] in [city name]” gets. For example, if you are targeting dentists in city1, check the traffic that “dentists in city1” gets.

If the term gets over 200 searches per month, it is worth pursuing. This number might seem low but bear in mind that, for an offline business, even a single new client could be worth several hundred dollars. A single client could potentially recoup the investment that they would have to make in your service.

Step 3 – Check Competition

Use a tool like Market Samurai (paid) or SEOQuake browser plugin (free) to evaluate the top 10 sites that appear in Google for the search term you have selected (“[category] in [city name]”). If the top 10 results contain 2 or more sites with a page rank of 0, this market is ripe for the taking.

Step 4 – Identify Prospects

This is the most important step in the whole process which will help you identify prospects which satisfy the criteria mentioned above.

Make a list of all the websites which appear on pages 2 – 5 of Google for your chosen search term. Additionally, if there are ads appearing for your search term, include those websites in your list as well. This should get you a list of 30-60 websites.

Now go through this list and only keep websites which match all of the following criteria:

1. Has a minimum domain age of 4 years.
2. Has “[city name]” and “[category]” mentioned at least once somewhere on the home page.
3. Does not belong to a business that present in multiple cities.

The websites that remain in your list after applying this filter have the following characteristics:

1. Being aged domains (some of them might even have a good page rank), they are much easier to rank with minimal off page SEO (mostly link building). In most cases, these websites can rank on the first page with a single scrapebox blast, a single link wheel/link pyramid or a handful of press releases. (Even after Panda/Penguin/Dolphin/Zebra/etc.)

2. The age of these domains shows that these businesses are real having been around for some time.

3. Most importantly, because these websites are ranked in the first few pages, they most likely receive some organic traffic from Google. This means that their owners understand the value that you could offer by ranking their website on the first page of Google. This makes your job of convincing the website owners much easier.

Using this list of websites, create a numbered list of the names of the firms which are owners of these websites. This list will come in handy in the next step.

Step 5 – Contact the Website Owners and Make Your Offer

Before you contact website owners to make your offer, you need to know some of the most common excuses they will give you initially. Here’s a list of these ‘excuses’ along with an explanation of how you can counter those:

1. I already have a person in charge of my website

This is by far the most common line you’ll hear. The best way to counter this excuse is to point out that the existing person/company in charge of their website is doing nothing to rank it higher. Not only will this get your prospect’s attention, it’ll also open the door for you to start hosting the website and make a nice recurring income.

2. There don’t seem to be any tangible benefits/It is too expensive

Even though most of these website owners understand the value of online traffic, some will play dumb to take up a good bargaining position. The best way to counter this argument is to ask the prospect what a single client to him/her is worth.

Then go on to illustrate how just a couple of clients obtained from increased online traffic can help recover the investment in your service. When you position your offering in context of the prospect’s business, it becomes hard for the prospect to ignore the benefits of your offer.

3. Can I Speak With You Later

A lot of prospects will try to avoid wasting time by telling you to get back in touch later. When anyone says this to you, hand over the list of business names (that you created in step 4) and tell the prospect that you are sending this offer to all of these businesses and that you will be able to accept no more than 2 of these businesses as your clients.

Irrespective of what the client says, make sure that you emphasize that the offer is on a first come first serve basis and that, based on past experience, this offer will be lapped up by two firms by the end of the day.

This will create a sense of urgency and a fear of losing out to the competition and help you in closing the sale.

When you make your offer, tell the prospects that the results will be deliverable within a period of 60 days and offer them a 100% money back guarantee should you fail to deliver. This will help you overcome the last bit of resistance that might be left in your prospect to accept your offer.

Step 6 – Accept Clients & Build links

If you follow the steps mentioned above, you’ll definitely end up with more than two clients. There’s not been a single case where I have failed to land less than 4 clients for any given market/city combination.

Now remember how (in step 5) you told your clients that you can accept only two of them? Forget about that and go ahead and accept more than two prospects (with a maximum of 5 clients). If you have more than 5 prospects, sort them in descending order of the website page rank/domain age and select the top 5.

Why are we doing this? It is because we don’t know exactly how Google ranks websites and we can’t be sure of which websites will rank better. By selecting 5 websites, you increase your chances of ranking at least two of them on the first page of Google search results.

Once you have accepted your clients (max. 5), you can start the link building process. The process which has worked best for me has been to do a scrapebox blast to at least 1000 auto approve sites, post an article to the top article directories and post a couple of press releases on free press release sites (for each of the 5 clients).

To do this, you’ll need one article (max $5) and one press release (max $5) which you can use for all the 5 clients by changing the firm name in the article/press release.

This link building alone should get at least two of your clients’ websites to the front page of Google. If this doesn’t, repeat the process another time and it should get the job done.

So far, I have never had to do more than two rounds of the above-mentioned link building process to get two websites to the front page of Google.

Step 7 – Close the Transaction

Once you have a particular client’s website on the first page of Google search results, get in touch with the client and present the results of your service. At this time, get your client’s signature on a document that states something to the effect that you have delivered what you had promised to deliver. This will be important to indemnify you should any future change to Google’s algorithms knock your clients’ websites off the first page.

Do this for each client whose website you have been able to rank on the first page of Google.

For the rest of the clients, get in touch with them and return their money back.

Economics of the Method (Pricing/Refunds/Profits)

You can price your service anywhere from $200 to $500 and still be able to land clients. I personally price this service based on the category of business and the average value of a single customer to that business.

If a single customer is worth $100 (on average) to a business, I’ll charge a minimum of $200 for this ranking service as it is easy to help prospects rationalize investing in the service (by saying that getting just 2 new clients due to this service will help them recover its cost).

Assuming that you charge a minimum of $200 per client, here is how the economics of the method work (assuming you get 5 clients):

1. Cost of article: $5
2. Cost of Press Release: $5
3. Cost of link building
a. If you have tools like Scrapebox/GSA/AMR - $0
b. If you use a service like fiverr - $50 ($5 x 5 clients x 2 rounds)

The maximum total cost is $60 assuming that one round of linking isn’t enough. However, if you own any of the above mentioned tools, the cost for a single category/city combination is just $10.

If you get two websites on the front page, you will earn $400 out of which your profit will be anywhere from $340 to $390.

Final Word

This is an incredibly simple and powerful method which has been working well for me over the past several months. Once you have these clients, you can always upsell other services down the line which can provide you with recurring income and boost your profits.

I hope that you can put this method to use and kick start (or supplement) a profitable business.

Easy $100 A Day - Perfect For New Kenyan Bloggers

Hey guys,

If you know me, you'll already be aware that I don't do much SEO and I'm not very technical, so coding anything is completely beyond me.

That doesn't mean I can't make money - I just have to focus on what I'm good at. That's usually: simple ideas that will generate revenue from day one.

Before I start, please DO NOT PM me about this method. If you can't figure it out from my post, then please go get a 9-5 job as IM is not for you.

You could call this "SEO-Jacking" (I just made that name up so please don't Google it).

Here's a really easy way to generate some cash each day. It does require some work, but it's very simple so can be outsourced if necessary. It's not particularly original, but I know it works as I use it for my main business which generates mid $XX,XXX a month in profits.

1) Find a niche. Doesn't really matter what it is, but preferably something popular where there will always be buyers and a variety of products to choose from. Something like weight loss would be fine. Then find products and their aff programs (clickbank would be fine for this) or any offers with a cpa network.

2) Create a review blog. Preferably you would want to use a proper domain as that's less likely to be flagged as spam. These cost a few bucks, as does hosting. Doesn't matter what the name of the site is, although it helps if it is targeted. And please buy a .com not a .info or something crap like that.

Make it in Wordpress (there are tons of "review" themes out there) and add reviews of 3-5 popular products (it's best if they are already popular - you'll see why in a bit). Try make them sound like real reviews. You could also go down the route of the personal blog - "I tried these pills and lost X in Y weeks". Most things will work - just test different niches and different blog setups. Cloak your affiliate links and make sure they track correctly. If you're lazy, you can just rip reviews from some top review sites - just bear in mind it's unlikely you'll ever rank for keywords (if that's your intention down the line).

3) Setup Google Alerts for the following:

[product name] - for each different product you have reviewed
[your niche]
[competitor products]
[anything else that's relevant]

4) Check your G Alerts regularly.

5) If you've chosen a niche that is popular enough, you should get a ton of alerts like this. Usually they will be press releases, blog posts, forum posts so just make a note of all the URLs. If you're not getting at least 100 alerts per day, add some more products or find a new niche. The idea behind using Google Alerts is that you are one of the first people to comment on a forum thread/blog post and therefore will get more clicks.

6) Visit every URL and respond in some way to the post. If it's a blog, comment with a link to your site. If it's a forum (ideal) then do the same. Put some thought into your posts.

Don't just write "go to my site here plz www.xxx.com".

Something like "I always check out this website before buying any products in [niche name] - [website link]. My personal favourite is [product X - a random product from the review site] because [whatever, whatever, whatever]."

It's not too hard to get this past forum moderators if you are clever about it. Forums are great as they will get you instant traffic and they tend to rank really well.

7) Rinse and repeat

The beauty of this method is that it can be done in a ton of niches, it's really easy to setup and you can get traffic instantly.

"Why did you call it SEO-jacking"? Well - most of these posts will start ranking for your keywords after a while so by already being on that page, you can leverage off their rankings in the long term.

So short term: direct traffic from the forums/blogs.

Longer term: direct traffic once the posts start to rank.

This is REALLY easy and anyone can do it. There's no reason at all why you can't make $100 a day doing this. It will bring residual income and you don't have to spend months waiting for your sites to start ranking only to drop again when Google changes their algo!

I'm sure most of you can come up with some ways to twist this (I've obviously posted a basic version) or you could of course be lazy and just buy some xrumer blasts on Fiverr and spam the shit out of niche forums

$30+/Day With Pinterest. Stupid Easy

This is a simple Pinterest method that doesn't involve getting followers or doing anything blackhat. I've tried this method and know it works if you just take action.

First install the Mozilla addon "Pinterest Right-Click" or Chrome equivalent to make pinning easier when you're pinning from a site other than Pinterest. Then open up an account on Pinterest. Something like 80% of Pinterest users are women so use a woman as your fake alias. Your profile needs to look legit so upload a pic of a woman and fill out all the information in the profile. You'll also need at least 10 nice looking boards to make your account look legit. The easiest way to do this is by finding some of the top pinners on
Code:
repinly.com/popular_pinners.aspx
and copying their boards.

You should have a complete profile and at least 10 pin boards now. Your account should look 100% legit.

The niche we're going to be working in is recipes. Why recipes? It's one of the most popular niches on pinterest and more importantly, people will CLICK on your pin and VISIT your website so they can find the recipe. In other niches like animals or landscapes or whatever, users may like your pin and repin it but they have ZERO incentive to click your pin and visit your website.

Now what you need to do is visit the "Popular" section of pinterest and find some popular recipe pins. Click on the pictures to visit the source website. These websites will be our targets where we'll copy recipes to use on our website.

Next create a simple website, copy the recipes from the sites you found earlier and post them to your site. Your site should be designed to maximize adsense CTR. Use a high CTR adsense theme (Thesis or Heatmap are good. Or search the forum for more suggestions), and put 3 adsense blocks above-the-fold on your website. If you don't have an adsense account just apply for one. I've gotten adsense approved using websites with 100% duplicate content so it shouldn't be a problem.

Now we need to pin recipes from our website in locations where they'll receive a lot of targeted views. To do this we need to become contributors of community boards. For those unfamiliar with community boards, these boards are large public boards with thousands or tens of thousands of followers where anyone that's a contributor can post pins. Usually these boards will have instructions on how to join as a contributor. If they don't then follow the board and comment “[AT SIGN]board creator name” and ask politely to join. This is why you need a legit looking profile. If you come off as spammy you won't be accepted. As long as you look legit it's very, very easy to join these boards.

Some boards to get you started in the recipe niche:

Code:

pinterest.com/naglemarie/delicious-desserts/

pinterest.com/doorite579/my-pinterest-cookbook/

pinterest.com/doorite579/liquid-refreshments/

pinterest.com/patesmichael/food/

Now just pin images from your website to the boards. In the description write something along the lines of “Food Name Recipe” or “Food Name. Click For Recipe” You will get lots of repins and traffic to your site. Pinterest users are made up of bored, older women who aren't very smart and will click ads at a higher rate than younger more computer savvy users.

DON'T SPAM. DON'T BE DUMB and you'll make money.

Twist #1: Take RSS feeds from the original recipe sites and run it through yahoo pipes so it outputs the full recipe+image. If you don't know how to do this search this forum or google. There are tutorials that explain it better than I can. Then take that full rss feed and turn your website into an autoblog using wp-o-matic or another autoblog plugin.

Twist #2: Only use high CPC keyword recipes on your website such as Diabetic Recipes or Weight Loss Recipes for more $$ each click.

Twist #3: Think of other niches where users have a strong incentive to click your pin and visit your website then pin those images onto relevant community boards.

Hope this helps

List of Social Exchange Sites

There are so many of these sites. I went back a little bit in the forums and composed a list of all the ones that are still active (NOTE: I haven't signed up for all of them yet, not sure if they have any traffic). I also added a few more that only offer a specific type of traffic/whatever (ie Facebook only, YouTube only).

Enjoy! Try to guess which one is mine

UPDATED: Advanced WordPress SEO Optimization

A few more things, as I have forgotten to mention them in my original post.

A very easy way to increase the uniqueness of the listing pages is... can you guess? ... adding unique content to them. Obvious but very few people take the time to do it. I highly recommend you to add descriptions to categories and make sure they are used in the category pages by your theme. If the description does not appear but you know you added it, you have to modify a certain file from your theme. Depending on how the theme is built it may be index.php, category.php, archive.php or some other file. Again coding knowledge is requiredbut you can outsource this for like 5 bucks. You can even make the category description appear below the posts so you don't waste screen real estate(user will just be interested in the listing of posts).

Descriptions can be anything between 50 to 200 words (maybe even more if you're hardcore and/or makes sense).

You can also use descriptions for tags and that is a great way to make tag listings more unique and appealing to search engines (if you choose to do it the hard/best way and have them indexable). Don't expect traffic coming to the tag pages, chances for that are small even if you add unique descriptions. However you do get a positive effect for the posts linked to from those tag pages.

Also you don't even have to do this for all tag pages (though is recommended) but it could help a lot depending of the site you have, the content and the keyword tree (as in computer science organized graph structure).

For example let's say you have a site about digital cameras. You could use tags for feature names. So you could have tags like:

  • image stabilization
  • image stabilization lens
  • burst mode
  • ISO
  • ISO 100
  • ISO 200
  • ISO 300 ... and so on to ISO 1600 or whatever.

For each of the features you'd have a description. However as you see some of the tags overlap as keywords. If you use tags that overlap so much and you do it wrong, you end up with google seeing your site as spammy. If you do it right you get shitloads of traffic. The wrong way to do it is explained in my original post (tag pages with very few posts or identical/similar posts in the list). Done right means having a great description. What is a great description for a tag?

Tag name: ISO 100
Tag description: ISO 100 is one of the lower <a href="/tag/iso">ISO<a> settings available on a digital camera. Using this setting you obtain picture with a very low noise. While it is best to use ISO 100, and generally low ISO numbers, if the amount of light is low then you will need to use higher settings like <a href="/tag/iso400">ISO 400</a>, <a href="/tag/iso600">ISO 600</a> or even the very noisy <a href="/tag/iso1600">ISO 1600</a>. For a complete understanding on how ISO settings should be used to make amazing pictures you can go and read our in-depth guide <a href="post/iso-guide">Using ISO Settings on Your Digital Camera</a>.

As you see I am linking from the tag description to other tag pages and even a post page (WOA! did you knew you can use HTML code in the description fields for tags and categories?). In this example I am overdoing it a bit as I am using so many links in such a short description for a tag. But it's still OK I don't think SE mind it since it is highly relevant. As you see it is also very useful for somebody who doesn't know much about photography.

On the other tag pages for ISO 200, ISO 400, etc you would have different descriptions and link to eachother in a relevant manner. For "image stabilization" you could explain it as being the technique while for "image stabilization lens" you would focus it around lenses with this feature.

We only fixed the problem partially - unique descriptions. What about the problem of having two or more tag pages listing the same posts? This is the sneaky part of using overlapping keywords Bet you didn't saw this coming. If you make 10 posts and you would tag them all with "image stabilization", instead tag 7 of them with "image stabilization" and other 7 with "image stabilization lens". You have 7 posts listed per tag page but only 4 of them are the same. You could obviously split it 5/5 and have it 100% unique. Now you have two tag pages with pretty much unique content. That's enough to be important for a SE and not be seen as duplicate, especially that you have a unique paragraph for the tag description (actual post excerpt is duplicated on many post listing pages).

Which takes me to another phenomenally important thing (how could I forget this in my original post?! ):

ALWAYS USE SHORT EXCERPTS ON LISTING PAGES!

By default you have that more tag to delimit how much of the post you want to appear in the listings. You also have the excerpt field. Each theme is built differently. some use the excerpt, some use the more tag, some autodetect. The idea is you want the fragments of text from the actual posts that appear in listings to be short (max 200 words, ideally around 70-100 words). If you leave the full post content on the listing pages you've just fucked yourself up completely in terms of on-site SEO (well, maybe not completely because Google knows WP/sites/developers sucks ass and adapts to this partially).

I have the sensation that there was more stuff I wanted to tell you about... guess I'll come back if I remember what it was (no I don't smoke weed).

Advanced WordPress SEO Optimization

On-site WordPress theme optimization for SEO. A comprehensive guide for this would probably end up tens of pages long, but I am going to outline here at a very high level what you have to do.

If you have no experience with web development you will not be able to implement most of these optimizations. You are required to at least understand HTML but PHP knowledge is very useful as well (otherwise you will screw up your themes trying to do this or not obtain the results you intended).

There are two aspects to on-site SEO optimization for any site (whether it is a WordPRess, Drupal, Joomla or static web pages):

  1. SEO optimized URLs (permalinks)
  2. HTML semantic structure
  3. Search engine directives / noindex-ing
  4. Internal linking architecture

SEO Optimized URLs (permalinks)
Go to WordPress admin at Settings>Permalinks. Ideally you would have just %postname% for 'custom structure' but depending on how you setup your blog that might produce performance problems or not work as expected (conflicts with page URLs). Just make sure you have it in the permalink, even if you have other things like date tags (%year%, %monthnum%, %day%) or %post_id%. You don't loose much if %postname% is not alone.

For category permalinks I personally always use a category base removal plugin (adapted by myself). That is so you have http://domain.com/catname instead of http://domain.com/category/catname. The change I have made to the existing plugin was to also remove parent categories from the category URL (because I have verbose/deep structure for categories and the URL would become long and not as relevant for the keyword). What I mean is, instead of http://domain.com/catname/subcat1/subcat2 I just have http://domain.com/subcat2.

The plugin you can use for this is WP No Category Base.

I will not share the change I have made because it is done in a hackish way and only works well with the specific setup I have. Sometimes I have to adapt it if I change the architecture of links for a site. If you know PHP basically you just have to explode() by "/" the URL before returning it (in the plugin code) and keep just the last segment (the last/actual subcategory permalink).

HTML Semantic Structure

This is where WordPress is shit! 99% of the themes (or more) are complete crap in this area. Even themes that are advertized as SEO-optimized are crap in this area (maybe not 100% crap but more than 50% crap - by 'crap' I mean done the wrong way and not optimized).

H1-H6 tags have semantic meaning - they represent titles/subtitles - have more weight for a search engine (H1 most weight, H6 least weight). Usually you use them as subtitles within a post but a lot of themes (99% of them) use H1-H6 tags in other places, mainly the sidebars (as titles for widgets/panels). Also many themes use H1 tag for the blog name/logo in the header. This is bad on-site SEO.

Why is it bad to use H tags for widget/panel titles (in sidebars)?
Because they appear on every page and pollute your keyword relevance with generic words like "Categories", "Tags", "Archives", "Latest posts". Google may actually have exceptions in their algorithm to take this into consideration during the weighting of the content but you can't rely on that assumption. That means on a post page where you have a H2 subtitle in the post "Loosing weight is not difficult!" you also have for example 4 panels with H2 as "Categories", "Tags", etc. So you end up with diluted relevance for "loosing weight".

Why is it bad to have the site name/logo as H1?
Because it appears on EVERY page of your site. Hence you either end up having two different H1 tags (one for logo and one for the post title) - which is semantically incorrect (you should have only one H1 per page and you can have multiple H2-H6) or you have the blog name/logo as H1 and actual post title as H2 (lower weight). You only try (maybe) to rank for your blog name with the homepage so having it marked for search engines as being relevant on inner pages (post, category, tag) is bad practice because it dilutes the weight of the keyword that page was targeting.

Tags with and without semantic meaning
DIV and SPAN are HTML tags that have no semantic meaning and have no extra weight/relevance for SE, so use them if you don't want to give extra weight to the text/content in them. These tags are used by web developers as containers. Difference between DIV and SPAN is that DIV is block-level and SPAN is inline-level (has to do with rendering and CSS). What that means is some content put inside SPAN will appear inline with what was before and what is after it (other inline-level elements are B, STRONG, EM, I, DEL, U, IMG, A, etc. - tags that if you put in a paragraph of text will not add a line-break). DIV is block-level so if you put a word inside a DIV tag it will move it to a new line in the rendered page (other block-level tags are H1-H6, P, BLOCKQUOTE, OL, UL, LI, etc).

So what you should do is edit your theme files so that you make the blog name/logo H1 only for homepage but for any other pages you make it DIV or SPAN (you can use WP conditional tags for this). You could make it DIV/SPAN on all pages and just add a H1 in your homepage with whatever keyword you're targeting.

Then you have to change those H* tags inside your sidebar. For that you have to edit sidebar.php file in your theme's folder (and possibly functions.php if the theme is more advanced/intricate). You look for H* tags (generally H2 is used) and replace them with DIV. Now you very likely fucked up the theme (how it looks) so you have to go and adapt the CSS rules (in style.css) for those things so they display correctly. I'm not going to go into details - if you know web development a bit you know what I mean, otherwise you're stuck and I can't help you.

What you basically do is:

  • Make single post and pages have the tite within H1
  • Make listing pages (category, tag, archive, etc) have the listing title as H1 (e.g. <h1>Category Name</h1>) and actual post titles rendered from the loop as H2 (e.g <h2><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>).
  • Have no H1-H6 semantic tags as widget/panel titles in the sidebars or other places on the page that are not the actual content/post. You can have (though really not recommended) H2 tags in the sidebar for example if you have a "Latest posts" listing and H2 would be the post title (not the "Latest posts" widget title).

One step further but overkill
If you want to take this optimization to the top, you'd have to make it so the order of the content in the HTML source code is the one you want (because content and links found first are given a bit more importance than links found last). That means you'd have the actual post content first and the sidebar second and the footer and header last, even though you'd use CSS to render them the usual way. This is advanced shit and frankly implementing it on an existing theme is overkill (can be difficult and time consuming). Also I have reasons to believe that Google now uses more advanced algorithms to detect the various sections of a web page and does not rely on the order of the source code anymore.

Search engine directives / noindex-ing

Canonical URLs
First of all, WP already uses canonical URLs so unless you built a custom theme from scratch or have some very peculiar requirements you don't have to do anything about canonical URLs.

Search results pages
Unless you're doing some advanced shit and know what you're doing, noindex search results pages. Even Google recommends this. You can use search function on sites with lots of pages to do some advanced optimization (by inflating the number of indexed pages) but I won't go into details now as this has nothing to do with WP optimization.

Even better replace WP search with Google Site Search as it offers better results to your visitors.

Tag pages
One very important thing is to make tag pages noindex. This is easy and there are many ways to do it so I won't explain any of them but just enumerate some: modify header.php theme file, do a hook for wp_head() inside functions.php, use a plugin (e.g. Headspace2 SEO plugin), etc.

Why would you make the tag pages noindex? Because for most blogs they produce vast amounts of duplicate pages. Ideally you'd have them indexable and you would pay great attention to how and when you use tags so you don't end up with:

  • Tag pages with just 1-2 posts listed on them (only 1-2 posts were tagged with that term)
  • Tag pages that have same posts as other tag pages (e.g. you have 10 posts and you tagged all of them with both 'term1' and 'term2' but you used those terms on nothing else).

What happens is the number of indexed pages in search engines decreases (obviously) but SE likes your site more. I know cases where noindex-ing tag pages increased traffic by 300% from Google. I'm not saying this is the norm but if you have lots of tags (a lot more tag pages than content pages) and they produce lots of duplicate content pages, that is bad for you. Again, I stress the fact that having tag pages indexable is good and useful but ONLY if you pay a lot of attetion to the type of listing pages they produce. For most people this is a lot of hassle so it is better to just noindex them.

Category pages
If you don't use categories as they were intended but more like tags you end up in same problem as described above. Obvioulsy keep category pages indexable but make sure you don't "spam" with tens or hundreds of categories that each have only a few posts in them.

Archive pages
You can noindex them in most cases or just make sure you have no archive-type links from sidebar, post date or other places. Unless you have a multi-user blog with lots of users that post lots of content in lots of categories, you end up with archive pages being kinda duplicate content. On top of that they dilute your internal linking anchor relevance (alongside the keywords you're targeting you have anchors like "2001", "December 2011", etc). At most you should have a yearly or monthly (worst case) archive. Under no circumstances should you let google index day archives because unless you have a blog where you make more than 5 posts/day, you end up with lots of tiny, shitty, spammy pages.

Any other type of archive/listing page (e.g. author) should be noindex, or even better have NO LINKS pointing to it so SE don't know it exists.

Internal linking architecture

Better homepage link
In the header navigation if you have a "home" link, make it n0follow. Add a d0follow link towards the homepage in the footer and instead of "home" use the actual keyword the homepage is targeting. Ideally you would not do this but instead have no "home" labeled link and use the keyword in the header navbar for the home link. However lots of people find it good user experience to have a "home" link in case they get a bit lost or something (in practice many people don't know they can click on the logo to go to homepage).

Remove polluting links
I was telling you to noindex tag pages and other types of pages. This is the other side of the coin. Remove completely any links from your site towards such pages you don't want SE to find. You can keep tag links if you think they add to the user experience (but noindex tag pages as I've said previously) but just eliminate archive/date links from the sidebar. Maybe if you have issues with SE finding all your pages, keep an archive page (not panel in sidebar) and link to it with ONE SINGLE link from the footer from the homepage ONLY (not from other pages).

Also you have to go and modify your theme files so that you don't have the post author and date (everywhere they appear) as links but as regular text (otherise you still end up with SE indexing those unimportant pages).

Have a good category structure
What i mean is "silo" type structure.Someone silo builderplugin for this, don't forget to say thanks or rep him, he deserves it for saving your time (also go and read through his posts, he has some great ones). You find out what a silo structure is on phpbuilt's post. This is not the perfect structure for any type of site, so use common sense in choosing if to use it or not.

Frankly, I think a solid category structure and silo-type internal linking is the most overlooked beneficial on-site SEO thing you can do. This is because by using this you can cluster keyword families (organize your site as highly relevant topical hubs around keyword families).

Remove useless widgets/panels
Any panel/widget that doesn't improve user experience, the SEO or is redundant in terms of SEO should be eliminated. That means tag cloud (if it wasn't obvious by now tags are evil), archive links, recent posts, latest comments and crap like that. If you want to have archives, you can have them as a dropdown box and it won't affect your SEO.

If you don't have the latest posts listed on homepage, use a latest posts plugin but just on the homepage or just in one page that gets crawled often (to help with indexing the latest posts you make).

Plugins I recommend
I use very few plugins, but some that I recommend are:

HeadSpace2 (no I do not like All-in-One SEO or the others and I do NOT use this one either because I usually have my own hardcoded SEO so don't need a plugin for this)
Contact Form 7
WP No Category Base
SEO Auto Links & Related Posts (only on certain types of sites, I recommend to do this interlinking manually for important sites)

I'm not saying they are the best, they're just the ones I have used. I'm not staying very up to date so there might be better ones.

By the way don't use plugins just because they exist. If you don't see a good reason to use it, if it doesn't improve SEO or user experience, then don't install it. Also lots of SEO plugins are actually bad for SEO (imagine that). You may end up with a very empty sidebar which is again not good, so just use some SEO-insignifiant plugins/panels/whatever to make the page look better (not so thin).

Plugins can be dangerous. I've seen folks who took control over tens of thousands of sites using WP plugins that they built with trojans/backdoors in them. There is no way for you to know this unless you are good with PHP and can read and understand the plugin code, so just always make sure you install plugins hosted on wordpress.org plugin repository. Chances for a plugin from wordpress.org to be dangerous are smaller.

That's it so far, I'm sure this was a pain to read for most of you that don't know at least basic web development and never opened a WP theme file. But hey, you can't have both 'easy' and 'advanced' in the same sentence when it comes to WordPress.

Oh, I almost forgot, for all of those who think WordPress is great for SEO and Google loves WordPress and all that... wait for it... here it goes:

5 Ways To Improve Your Adsense Earnings in kenya or any other market

5 Ways To Improve Your Adsense Earnings

If webmasters want to monetize their websites, the great way to do it is through Adsense. There are lots of webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money a day through their sites. But then some of the “geniuses” of them are enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters different from the other kind is that they are different and they think out of the box.

The ones who have been there and done it have quite some useful tips to help those who would want to venture into this field. Some of these tips have boosted quite a lot of earnings in the past and is continuously doing so.

Here are some 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are some of the tips that have worked well for some who want to generate hundreds and even thousands on their websites. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the ones already done. Every clickthrough that visitors make is a point for you so make every click count by making your Adsense something that people will definitely click on.

Tips given by those who have boosted their earnings are just guidelines they want to share with others. If they have somehow worked wonders to some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try them out into your ads and see the result it will bring.

If others have done it, there is nothing wrong trying it out for yourself.

Basic SEO practices for the new kenyan bloggers

Basic SEO practices for newbies:

The thing to remember is that SEO isn't a magic bullet. It's important, but no one knows the exact algorithms the SEs use, and each one is different so all you can do is optimize the best you can. There happens to be a few things that you should just always do whenever you make a new website. Don't stress over every little thing, just make sure you are doing it, this should just become kind of automatic for you.

Make sure you fill in your meta tags with a good title, description, and the right keywords. I personally don't think the keywords meta-tag is nearly as important as everyone else on here does, but it gives me a way to organize my keywords list for me to reference. When you start having many different websites, it's good to include whatever notes to yourself you can. When you come back to work on an older site you might not remember eveything you were thinking before. The metatags help you remember your site info as much as it helps the SE figure it out. A good rule of thumb is that anything that won't hurt you for SEO and might help, you should use and use correctly. Definately use the title meta-tag, try to include keywords in the title. Definately use the description meta-tag, google will normally use this for the summary it displays in the listing. It isn't used for indexing so write it for humans, this is what gets people to click on your link when they see it in the SERP. Don't use the same metatags for every page on your site. Take the time to make them be specific to each page.

Create good content. Make sure you have some decent content. Content is what the internet was invented for. If you have unique and quality content, then all the seo and backlinking you're doing is just to get the ball rolling. Give them what they want, show them where it is, and they'll start coming. If it's good enough then it'll eventually start building on its own naturally because people like what they found. That's the idea anyway. So whenever possible use the best page design and the best content possible. Avoid duplicate content between different pages on your site, the SE will most likely penalize your site for that.

Remember, your content isn't just something to get google to like your site, it is the whole point of your site. The content and how you structure it is what will make visitors do what you want when they get there. If it's crap they'll just leave, and 99% of them won't leave by clicking on your adsense or affilliate link, they'll just close the window or use the back button. (yes, of course if your doing blackhat stuff you can make the browser go where you want, but that's for a different discussion.)

Include your keywords. Structure your content correctly, make a few title headers in the content that include keywords (use header tags h1, h2, etc.), try to have a keyword density around 2% in your content, and maybe 4% for the whole page including the metatags, alt tags, anchors, etc.

Be sure that your .htaccess is set up correctly. Decide on which way you want your url to be and stick with it. If you decide to use www then always use it like that in your links, don't use both. I usually set up a 301 for all www requests to redirect to non-www urls. If you don't set that up then every single page on your site can appear to google as having at least one duplicate. If that's the only thing wrong on your site it isn't going to kill you, but it's so easy to fix. If you don't know how to set up a redirect in your .htaccess file then just do a search, there are many other threads explaining it. Check google if you can't find it here. Also, .htaccess only apples if your on an Apache server, Windows servers do it a little differently, if that applies to you then just search google to find out how to do it. If your consitent in your linking, then the only time the redirect will come into play is if you get natural backlinks that you have no control over. You should also specify which you prefer, www or not-www in google tools if you use it. (If you don't then you really should, I recommend you set yourself up an account for webmaster tools and analytics.)

Make a robots.txt file and I like to include a favicon because without them the robots will trigger file not found errors on your server. Be sure to configure your robots.txt correctly. Make a custom 404 page. If your site has more than just a couple of pages then also create a sitemap.xml file. It's not a bad idea to just create a sitemap anyway no matter what, it lets you define the structure of your site to the crawlers. Just search google if you don't know how to do any of that, it's very basic and you can find exact instructions within a minute when you do a search.

Other than that there isn't a lot more you can do for on-site SEO. When people ask about SEO they're always thinking of on-site SEO, but thats the easy and quick part. Just do it and get on with it.

Everything else is off-site SEO and involves building backlinks and promotion.
This is where you need to focus your efforts. This is where the magic bullet is, if there really is one.

Social Bookmarks, Directory Submissions, Profile Links, and Blog Comments are really the easiest place to start getting backlinks. It's not a bad idea to purchase these links from a service. They are easy to make, but to do it right they really need to be posted from many different accounts and ip adresses. A good idea when your starting is to do it yourself a little bit to see how it works, then purchase larger quantities from a service. You want to get a lot of links, but you don't want to over do it. Building to fast can look unnatural, just do some searches and read up on it a little more. How many and how fast is a judgement call you have to make. hold off on more complex linkbuilding until you have a little more experience. Linkwheels and other link structures can be very powerful, but can also hurt your site a lot if not done correctly.

Whenever possible include keyword anchors and title or alt tags on your backlinks. Don't always use the same anchors, vary it up a little, use 3 or 4 different keywords and even do a few with some non keyword anchors. You are trying to look as though a lot of different real people have taken a liking to your site, if it were natural then all links wouldn't be exactly the same, so you want to simulate that same type of randomness. Backlinking strategies are all about simulating the natural events that happen as a site grows in popularity. If you can do it successfully then the SE's will give you good position in the listings, and then hopefully what you are simulating can become reality. The point of all of it is to get traffic.

Change up your anchor text. The idea of backlinking is to simulate that masses of people are becoming interested in your site. It should have some amount of randomness to it in order to look natural. I've seen a few made up stats on what's best, but I think a good rule of thumb is maybe about 45% primary keywords, 35% secondary keywords, and about 15% random unrelated like Click Here, and then about 5% just the url. The exact percentage isn't dramatically important, it just needs to seem like the linking is natural.

Create relevant articles containing your keywords, include backlinks using keyword anchors, and submit to article directories. Article directories are mostly authority sites and your article becomes a relevant backlink to your site. Then create profiles and accounts on blogs, social networking sites, forums etc. Include a link to your website whenever you do that and each one of those become backlinks as well.

Thats the end of it. Well kinda.
Go back and watch your stats to see what keywords are getting the most traffic to your site, analyze the data a little bit and if you need to, remove or add keywords to your content and tags, and adjust the anchors your using in your backlinks.

Continue building links. Remember you're trying to artificially create the appearance to the SE that your site is popular. When that happens naturally, people are always adding new links to your site. Since you are trying to look natural you have to do the same thing. Linkbuilding never stops completely.

OK, there you go. That's that basics of SEO. Everything else is about fine tuning, and has to be looked at for each individual situation.

If you have any more questions, before you start PMing anyone just read through the threads in the White Hat SEO section, and do some searching on google. You can find some really good information from some much smarter people than me.

If there are any SEO gurus that want to expand on this or if you see any errors you think should be discussed, please add your input.

how to Start a Website in kenya without any knowledge on web designing

Since there was a large increase of members in the online marketing, and there are members who are brand new to the online business, so I decided to spend a little of my time and write a small simple guide on how to start a blog, which is the best for brand new members when they think they are ready. This is a simple guide, so I won’t go into very much details (ie method how to make $100/day with Adsense).
I am not associated nor affiliate with any of the sites mentioned in this thread.

Registering a Domain
Your domain plays a very important role in SEO. SEO is Search Engine Optimization. When registering a domain, there are few stuff you have to consider.
-The shorter the domain, the better.
-Your domain must contain your main keyword(s).
-I highly recommend a .com or a .net because of SEO.
-Make the domain easy to remember.

A domain like howtomakemoneyonline.com is way too long, even though it is right to the point, onlinemoney.com is a much better domain, or .net if the .com isn’t available.

If you are going to make a site and you want to rank your domain for certain countries, like if you are going to make a site specifically for Kenya, then you would consider getting a Kenya domain extension (.co.ke) , and if you are Indian and will be writing in Indian language, then an Indian domain extension (.in) would work the best. This means if your domain extension is .co.ke, then you would be targeting Google.co.ke , since you want people from UK to come to you, and you would rank for Google.co.uk.
If your site is going for worldwide, then .com or .net is the best. But of course if you cannot afford $9-$10 then you would either have to wait for a $1 .com coupon from Godaddy, or you would have to buy a .info (which is from $0.9-$2.5, depending on the registrars). If you have $0, I would recommend you to go with http://Blogger.com since it’s owned by Google.com, and is extremely easy to setup, and Google will help it rank (but not alone of course).

Here is a list of the top domain registrars.
http://NameCheap.com
http://Godaddy.com
http://1and1.com
http://Name.com
http://Register.com

Searching for a Web-Host
Web hosting is simply where you host your website, in better words, where you keep the site’s files. This is needed for a site.
Don’t get frightened because I said files, you don’t have to have any skills to make a site, you don’t have to know how to code or design. 99% of the hosts have Fantastico, it is a tool which is you will get when you buy a host. Fantastico makes life simpler, There are many programs which you can install with 1 click using Fantastico, you will just have to enter the basic details (site title, description, email, username, password etc).
Well I recommend you to install Wordpress (under “Blogs” in Fantastico). Wordpress has extremely good plugins, and they are very easy to install, and surely will help in SEO and other stuff (depending on what plugins you use).
And another reason to use Wordpress is because Wordpress has lots and lots of themes, any kind of theme you can think of, even company themes.

Here is a list of Paid Web Hosts:

List of Free Web Hosts (I recommend paid)

http://hosting.eu.pn
http://biz.ht
http://100webspace.com
http://byethost.com
http://biz.nf
http://freehostia.com
http://awardspace.com

I haven’t used any of the free hosts above, so if something happens to your site, it is your own responsibility.

I am not sure if free hosts have fantastico, but if they don’t, it’s very easy to install wordpress.

Now it comes to the themes part, choosing your theme for Wordpress.
Here are a list of sites that have Free Premium themes(not all of them though) and free themes.

http://freewordpressthemes.com
http://wptemplates.org
http://freewpthemes.net

Some themes don’t allow you to add a logo, you can just enter the site title and it will be shown as text, but some themes require you to add a logo, but no worries, there are plenty of free tools to make logos (online tools), and you can make your own if you are good at photoshop, or if you can afford, then just hire a designer from BHW, and again, there are plenty of good designers here.

Content
When it comes to content, there is a very popular quote, “Content is King”.
Google, and any other search engine site LOVES unique content, by unique I am saying that it cannot be found anywhere else, you can write unique content, if you can’t, then you can use a content spinner (there are many free ones, but you will have to do small changes to it since none are perfect).

It is extremely easy to add articles on your Wordpress blog, I am sure you already know by now.
You may ask, how many words per article does Google love the most, people say different stuff, but I prefer 300-500 word articles.
If you can afford to hire an article writer, then sure go ahead, an article writer charges about 1 cent per word, and there are plenty of good writers here on BHW, go to the Buy/Sell Service section and you should find plenty.
But if you cannot afford, and you are not good at all in writing articles, then you can use non-unique content, just copying from another site related to your niche, and then pasting it on your site.
There is a plugin for Wordpress called wp-o-matic , it’s really simple to use, it will take content from the sites you want, but sometimes you will have small issues, so you may need to add the article(s) yourself.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Every search engine loves certain backlinks, Google will love backlink type A more than backlink type B, but Yahoo will love Backlink type B more than backlink type A, but all search engines have something in common, they all like backlinks, but just some are more powerful than others. So any backlink you can get is worth it.
There are many tools that can get you backlinks, and they do save time.
Before building any backlinks, you need to know your keyword, which will be your anchor text. The keyword must be located in the title/domain.

Anchor text is basically text/keyword that is clickable, like example when you go to Google.com , on the top you will see “Images” “News” etc, those are anchor texts, clickable words/text, which will direct you to another page.
Here are ways to get backlinks.

Blog Commenting – Blog Commenting on High Page Rank (PR) blogs are very powerful, I used to do them a lot before and the results were impressing. You can find high pr blogs easily, just google “how to find high pr blogs” and there are tons of ways, you can also hire someone to use scrapebox for you to find high pr blogs.
There are also high pr blog posts, meaning the post itself has a high pr, that is more powerful, but you might notice there are many spammy comments, but still it will take you few seconds to get a backlink.

There is a tool called “Scrapebox” that scrapes blog posts, on any niche (you decide the keywords etc) and it will scrape it for you, and you fill in the details (ie anchor text, url etc) and it will comment on all of them, but watch out about akismet, but I prefer manual blog commenting.

Forum Profiles – Well you know what’s a forum I suppose? You are on a forum right now. Simply find many high PR forums, register on them, and in your signature just enter your anchor text. Most of the times or forums it is this format (without space between U and R at the start)

Code:
[U RL=http://mysite.com]Keyword[/Url]
There is a tool called XRumer, it is an extremely powerful tool, but if your site is new, you should not use it, it creates thousands and thousands of forum profiles and puts your anchor in signature, but it is expensive.

Link Exchange – This works best if your site has a page rank, then you just request link exchange on DP or WF with the same niche, and most likely with the same PR. He will put your anchor text on his/her site, and you put his/her at your site.

Web Directories - There are tens of thousands of web-directories for you to submit your website to, and they will approve it. They also have featured listing but don’t mind that, just go for the free listing which 99% of the directories offer, these aren’t as strong as high PR backlinks, but they are still worth it, as I said, every backlink is worth it.

Press Release – This is usually done when a new site is launched, or you are launching something on your site, or there is an event etc, then you simply write a press release (google “how to write a press release”) , and then you will submit it to many press release sites, it will take few days to approve your press release.

Buying Links - You can pay other website owners to put your anchor on their site, the prices vary depending on the page rank of their site, and of course target websites on the same niche as you.

Guest Blogging - This one is one of my favorite. It is simply offering other blog owners as the same niche of your site, offering them a free article with 2-3 anchor texts in your article, this is indeed really worth it.

Buying Blog Posts – You can also buy blog posts, sometimes they will write an article for you and publish it on their blog, and sometimes you will have to write an article and they will publish it on their site, and again, prices vary on the page rank of the site.

Article Directories – Writing unique articles yourself or hiring an article writer, and then submitting it to high PR article directories, it will take few days to approve.

Yahoo Answers – You can also hire people for this as well, but a bit hard to find. Answers.Yahoo.com , register an account and go to the category on your niche, and answer people’s questions, but first 25 answers, don’t put anything in the “source” box, and then afterwards, for most of the answers put your website link in the “source” box, but make sure your answer actually answers the person’s question, it might get chosen as best answer, and Yahoo Answers ranks well for questions, and your answer will be shown first if it was chosen as Best Answer by the questioner.

Social Media – Social Media like Twitter, Facebook, Digg, etc, submit your websites there. There are many social media sites like digg, and you will have to create an account on all of them, and then submit your website.

Web 2.0 Profiles – Creating profiles on Web 2.0 sites is very powerful indeed, like Squidoo and then writing an article and linking back to your site, and also Blogger (Free blog, yes!) and writing an article linking back to your site, and video sites like Youtube, Metacafe etc.

You can always hire from BHW, tons of services.

Monetization
Monetizing your website so you can make money. Here are few ways you can make money from your website.

Google Adsense – Google Adsense , to register an account your site must be at least 6 months old, they will give you a code and you will put it on your site, and a banner will show up, or text link (you decide), and then if a visitor goes to your site and clicks on it, you will get money, how much, it depends on the niche and keywords.
There are other networks like Google Adsense, but Google Adsense is the best.

Content Lockers – In order for a person to access a page on your website (this works only if the page has something useful for the visitor), you simply put a content locker , and the person will have to do a survey in order to access the page. There are sites that offer that, you can google “CPA Sites” and you will get a list.

Selling Banner Space – If your site gets lots of visitors, you can sell banner space on your website.

Selling Text Links – Selling text links on your Page Rank blog (works best if your blog has a page rank! Else you don’t have to do this). The price you will offer for links on your site depends on the page rank your website is.

Affiliate Marketing – Clickbank is a website where you can find many stuff to sell, and you will get a percentage for each sale. Usually each affiliate offer you will get banners to advertise it with, with different sizes so you can put it on your site.

Donations – This barely works now, it will only work if your site really really had useful information so the person will donate to your paypal.

Tracking your Site’s Traffic
Google.com/analytics is the best tool which is free to track how many visitors your site gets, from where, and from which keyword from search engines, it is the best, and most website owners use it. There is a plugin called “Google Analyticor” for Wordpress which will allow you to put the Google Analytics code very easily, I really do recommend it (I already listed it in the plugin list above).

I really hope you enjoyed the guide, and to your success!
